Passion and compassion are two words that come to mind whenever you have a conversation with our Chaplain Jahill Richards.
These attributes come through when he speaks with our volunteers, members of the community at our Love Your Neighbor food distribution program and in his work as director of our Pathway to Purpose program for justice-impacted and at-risk youth.
Jahill shares about the good and bad of his personal experiences, and how God leads his life through it all.
His approachable and authentic demeanor provide a warm welcome to people who have suffered trauma and need empathy as well as guidance for moving forward.
Jahill is especially passionate about helping young people discover their God-given purposes. He relishes chances to address them individually or in large groups, where he is an effective communicator.
This June, Jahill had the chance to speak with graduating Camden seniors as the keynote speaker at their Baccalaureate service and the 2026 Remarkable Graduates ceremony, which was recently shown on NBC 10 Philadelphia.

Jahill’s message to the students was: Be Resilient, Be Righteous, and Be Revolutionary.
“Be resilient. As you graduate and move on to this next chapter of your lives because there will be roadblocks that will arise to tempt you to give up on your dreams. When you hit those roadblocks in life, I don’t want you to quit; I want you to conquer,” says Jahill.
Wholesome Riches is so proud of Jahill, as well as his wife and children who also serve in the community at our food distributions and through the organization Faces of Change.
“Be revolutionary. A revolution of love, and not hate. A Revolution of kindness, instead of being mean. A Revolution of not settling for low expectations, but aiming for the stairs to accomplish great things, and then give God all the glory,” says Jahill.
